I am a materially driven multidisciplinary artist. My primary love is sculpture, often explored either through clay and fired to ceramic, or in the vast world of fiber art. I work in a fluid freeing manner driven by intuition. I produce work that is organic, shaped by my lived environment of the Albertain prairies and in collaboration with the natural materials that seem to have a mind of their own.
When I’m out in nature, on hikes, nature walks, and trail rides, I take close notice of the small moments, details, and easily missed hidden pockets of the rich ecosystems I come across.
I’m particularly fascinated by the twisted growth of the dead and decaying trees debarked by time and weather. Revealing incredible patterns and intricate lines. Alongside the growth of the tree are the varying marks made by fungi, insects, animals; the marks of another life made before and after death.
